XWAY World FreeRunning Challenge 2008
Description:This was a Final Project on creating a brand and it’s identity for an urban athletic sport known as ‘Free-running’ which is a physical art, in which participants (free runners) use the urban and rural areas to perform movements through its structures focused on freedom and beauty. The goal here was to create a new-age, modern and illustrious identity for a sport that embodies freedom, dynamism, passion, energy and adventure. Freerunning is a modern and urban sport that has gained worldwide popularity over the last decade being practised by many athletes in countries such as England, France, China, America, Canada and many others. It is a sport that holds no restrictions and believes in no limitations, nothing is an obstacle and everyone can practise it their own way.
In order to truly display the values of this modern sport, I studied freerunning and parkour extensively and also researched brands and identities of other world sports events. After much research I decided on creating an illustrious and detailed logo that would not only represent the sport of freerunning but also be able to stand up to the quality and standards of other world sports event logos.
The name that I have chosen for the event is ‘X WAY - World Freerunning Challenge’, because this sport is all about doing it your own way and pushing your body beyond its limitations. |  |
