What's your opinion about using WP as a tool to showcase your portfolio? I've been very busy with projects almost everyday that I don't enough time to create my own portfolio site from scratch so I opted to use a free WP template to show screenshots of my work.. I'm just not sure if this is a bad thing since my specialty is web design and development.. It's like a case of a doctor who can't cure him/herself... In my case, I'm the web developer who can't create her own website.

Anybody having similar experiences?

I would at lest customize the template so you can add WordPress customization to your portfolio. Maybe when you get the time, work on creating your own templates/themes for WP. That's what I'm doing right now. While my portfolio is for web design, the one website I have is WordPress and I simply customized it to fit the needs of the website. I'm also working on creating my own themes in my spare time.

Wordpress is a superb place to post your portfolio. In fact, many designers if not all are switching to wordpress to showcase theire portfolio for a couple of reasons. A couple of them are, that you can post your work and you can run a blog witch is CRITICAL becouse blog shows off your expertise in the creative field and gets you really good attention if you know how to use social media.
